Hello Guys and Gals,

As a group, “heads” around the country stand by anxiously as we approach the vote on Prop 19 in California this fall. For the the first time, the Prop 19 vote gives credence to the dream of decriminalized marijuana in California.

For those who reside outside of Cali, this vote won’t have much of a personal impact, as our states will, for the time being, still have the old archaic laws of the past firmly in action continuing to outlaw the recreational use or possession of green ganja. However, the potential tipping point that the passing of Prop 19 could have here in our country could be the break that Ganja lovers here in the states and around the world have been cautiously hoping for for years.

Obviously we as “heads” would hope that our right to  free speech would be honored as we as a whole campaign to get people out to vote for the election in November. One such avenue of free speech that we would hope would be available to us as “heads” is the use of social networking sites to help raise awareness, passion, and action for the cause of marijuana decriminalization. This is especially important with respect to getting the youth to vote in California for Prop 19.

Unfortunately, the hot news in weed world, or shall we say anti-weed world, today deals specifically with our country’s biggest social networking website’s unwillingness to run advertisements by Action Groups like Just Say Now who are supporting pro-legalization efforts in California and around the country.

Today it was announced via news sites that Facebook is actively blocking pro-marijuana legalization advertisements. So much for a level playing field!

At Ganja Outpost, it doesn’t surprise us that Facebook would take actions to censor pro-marijuana efforts. For the first six months of our operations here at the Outpost we had a facebook account. We were excited to see people interacting with us via our facebook page, but we were put off by the fact that we couldn’t say the word Ganja, an intricate part of our company name by the way, in any of the setup, posting and everyday use of the site.

After some privacy concerns caught our attention a few months back, we at the Outpost decided to stop using Facebook in our efforts to connect with you. We would love to use facebook, but the reality that they are decidedly anti-pot doesn’t quite sit well with us and we hope that some of you out there agree.

Please do your part this election season to get people you know in Cali to get out and vote on Prop 19. While you’re at it you may want to think real hard about your own time on Facebook.

Hello Outpost Fans!

Ganja Outpost and Outpost Clothing are proud to announce the grand re-opening of the smuggler’s tales section of our website. After a lot of interest from our site visitors in our Smuggler’s Tales section, and plenty of questions about when more stories would be coming, we figured that many of you would enjoy an expanded section on the life and adventures of Skip Steele.

After convincing Skip to provide us with more material, we have put together the beginnings of a more interactive smuggler’s tales section of Ganja Outpost. We hope that many of you who asked us for more info on Skip and his Caribbean crew will find this new section enjoyable and will let us know what you think.

In the new tales, look for a visual tour of the boats that the Caribbean pot smuggling crews used back in the day, a tour of the cast that was responsible for some of those first loads of sativa out of the South American mainland, and a new interactive feature where our guests can submit questions to be answered by Skip when he has some extra time.

Connect with us here on our blog or on our social networking to let us know what you think of the new expanded tales menu.

Keep truckin everybody…

Bigger Shirts!!!

We have learned a lot about t-shirts and what people want over the past six months here at Ganja Outpost. We greatly appreciate the feedback that we have received from our loyal customers about our marijuana and counter culture designed shirts.

As you may have read in an earlier posting on this blog, we are currently in the process of changing our logo to be more public-friendly for customers everywhere. Feedback about our logo on our marijuana t-shirts is the most heavily commented issue here at Outpost Clothing.

However, the second most requested issue that we have been hearing from you, our great counter-culture customer deals with printing our designs on bigger shirts.

In response to this, Outpost Clothing will begin to offer 2xl shirts in the coming months, and will expand into offering 3xl shirts in the not too distant future.

We appreciate everyone who has contacted us via email to let us know how we can get better here at the Outpost. Keep the thoughts coming and join our discussion here on this blog!!!!

Outpost Fine Art Reproductions

With respect to marijuana artwork reproductions, our intention at Ganja Outpost is to provide you, my like-minded, valued customers, with a high quality reproduction of the marijuana artwork that was originally created to reflect different periods of Skip’s pot smuggling career during the 1970’s. The artwork was originally commissioned in the 1970’s for marijuana t-shirts for what Skip believed to be the impending legalization of cannabis. Although history went in the opposite direction with respect to legalization, the artwork is still as moving as it was at its creation. All of our artwork has been re-created using what is know as the Giclee Printing Process.

Our Marijuana Giclees, correctly pronounced “Zhee-clay”, combines the use of the most advanced technologies in digital printing to make a high quality replication of the original artwork.

At Ganja Outpost, we offer various types of Marijuana Giclee prints for our customers. The prints are broken down according first to the quality of paper or canvas that will be printed and second with respect to sizing. At Ganja Outpost, we offer two styles of paper for the Marijuana Giclee prints:

  • Archival Watercolor Art Paper – Paper that is acid-free insuring the perfect reproduction using archival pigment inks. This paper resists the effects of yellowing and loss of artwork vibrancy. Comes unframed and cut for framing purposes.
  • Archival Fine Art Canvas – Canvas that holds original quality reproductions on a stronger, more durable medium. Is produced unframed and is cut to frame.

The selections of the papers and canvas that we use to produce our art reproductions are acid free mediums which help to ensure lasting high quality in the artwork. In conjunction with this, the water-based inks that are used in the process of printing help to make the artwork sustainable for over 100 years.

Please feel free to contact Ganja Outpost if you have any questions regarding Ganja Outpost Marijuana Giclee’s.

Outpost Shirts

At Ganja Outpost, we have chosen shirts that we feel represent the high quality that you as a loyal cannabis lover deserves. Our shirts are 6.1 ounce 100% ring-spun cotton. The ring-spun cotton produces a softer, more comfortable shirt, guaranteed to become your favorite marijuana t shirt in your collection.

Further, we are beginning to offer a lighter weight ring-spun cotton t-shirt to our shirt collection at Outpost clothing. The new lightweight shirt will be a 4.3 ounce, 100% ring-spun cotton t-shirt, which is both soft, durable and more fit than our 6.1 Oz variety.

Because our shirts are 100% cotton, they have a tendency to shrink some when washed and dried. Please take into consideration some shrinkage when selecting your t-shirt size from our online storefront.
