This piece was a celebration of Skip's biggest load to date when the art was created around 1974. Smoke Colombian Punta Roja was a nod to the gorgeous one hundred thousand pounds of sweet Colombian pot. It took two very large 95 foot shrimp boats, "Bay Prince" and "Great Pretender", to carry the load, with each boat filled to the gunnels with fifty thousand pounds of tight, red Colombian buds.

In the art you can see one of the shrimp boats on the horizon just waiting to get loaded for the run back to the north. Just imagine the thrill when Skip heard the news that the load had made it to the beach. If you were smoking pot on the East coast of the U.S. in 1974, there's a good chance you were tokin' from this load.
